Tuesday, October 10, 2017 (Day 6)

ELA 9A & 9B

The students read for 10 minutes. They received back their poem paragraphs, their Orange Shirt Day questions, and their sonnets.  Anyone wishing to resubmit their sonnet must bring me a printed copy by Friday.  The following people must resubmit:  9A (Austin, Pierce, Averie) 9B (Ashton B., Zion, Adam, Miquiella).  Today the students had time to choose 15 lines of poetry from the 16 or so poems they have written  This could be 3-8 poems depending on what they choose to submit. Example: Haiku (3 lines) Limerick (5 lines) Faux Poe (7 lines) = 15 lines total.  They may submit more than 15 lines.  Their poems are to be typed out in the assignment document on Google Classroom and then both a paper copy and the rubricare to be handed in to me by Friday, October 13th.  This is a summative assignment.
