Thursday, October 26, 2017 (Day 5)

FRENCH 8B

Three students were in the Chaise Chaud.  We then reviewed conjugating ER verbs:
a) look at the pronouns
b) drop the ER to create the root,  example: porter --> port
c) add the correct ending

Je ---- e      Nous ----- ons
Tu --- es     Vous ----- ez
Il ---- e       Ils ---- ent
Elle --e      Elles ----ent
On ---e

We did a sheet to practice conjugating the verb PORTER (to wear).  Please have done for next class.  We also went through vocabulary for clothing.

*Sharri needs to write her Avoir/Etre quiz.
*Dallan, Colbey, Jax, Ashton & Quinn are overdue in handing in their Avoir/Etre posters.

FRENCH 7A

The students completed the Tell Them From Me survey from the Ministry of Education.  This is a chance for students to let their opinions and ideas be heard about activities and learning at UCHS.  The school receives the results back and they help us to create school goals and then design programming and activities to help us meet them.

ELA 9A

The students read for ten minutes.  Then they had time for two students to edit the rough draft of their news article about the events in the story "On the Sidewalk Bleeding" by Evan Hunter.  The Edit Workshop sheet may be found on Google Classroom.  If students were not present yesterday they had time to work on their rough draft, which is due tomorrow.  Tomorrow we will continue editing and type out a good copy of our articles on Google Classroom.

ELA 9B

The students read for ten minutes.  Then they had time to complete the rough draft of their news article about the events in the story "On the Sidewalk Bleeding" by Evan Hunter.  The rough draft is due tomorrow as the students will be editing it then.

*ELA 9 - Any corrected Remembrance Day poems must be handed into Miss Riddell by 9 am (preferably before) as the Legion is picking them up tomorrow.

*Fruit Sale continues.  Please sell at least 5 items as soon as possible.

*Tomorrow is Hat Day, which will cost $1 to participate in as we did not reach our challenge goal of 500 items sold.
