Today we watched a video version of "The Open Window" by Saki and did a Making it Personal sheet.
Then we read the story "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl. We did some comprehension questions and wrote entries for Mrs. Maloney's Secret Diary. Then we watched a video version of this story and did a comparison of the written story and the video.
We started by correcting the Look-alike/Sound-alike for Mine/Mind. Then the students put the finishing touches on their Remembrance Day poems and essays, turned them in on Google Classroom and printed out 2 copies. Next we read over the next article in our Mysteries booklet - "Flying Frisbees." Students worked on the Vocabulary section making sure to use headings, the date, margin, numbers, and neatness. They also had a chance to check over all of their work from "Hauntings or Hokum?" before handing that in for marking. We finished the class with a game of dodgeball in the gym.
