Tuesday, April 2, 2019 (Day 4)

ELA 9A & 9B

Today the students read for ten minutes.  Then they practiced their poems, which are coming along nicely.  We watched the rest of Act IV & V of Romeo and Juliet (the Baz Luhrmann version) and students finished up their analysis.  If you missed the films I'll be playing them at a noon hour once Jenna returns.
We also discussed how to write an essay and discussed who we might blame for Romeo and Juliet's' deaths. Tomorrow we will start planning our essays.  They will be due at the end of next week.

SOCIAL 7B

Today we watched several videos about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and discussed benefits and risks of nuclear power.  The students wrote a short explanation of their feelings on nuclear power.  We also discussed how First Nations have been affected by the European settlers/explorers.  We also discussed how to help the environment by what we buy, recycling, composting, and so on.
Here is a link to show all the Nuclear power plants in the world:  https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-the-worlds-nuclear-power-plants

FRENCH 7B

Today we reviewed the three verb families and put them into a chart.  We also reviewed verbs for each family and practiced conjugating them.  This is in preparation for our Verb Test on Friday, April 12th.

FRENCH 8B

Three students were in the Chaise Chaud.  We reviewed RE verbs and the students wrote 5 sentences using them.  We had several people finally present their music posters.  Logan will be present tomorrow in Warrior Time.  Then we played a kahoot to practice passé composé.
