Thursday, February 7, 2019 (Day 2)

FRENCH 7A

The students continued green screening their voyages across Canada in French.  We'll have at least one more class for filming.

SOCIAL 7B

Today we discussed scale on maps.  They shrink the distances to fit them on the map and then label this on a map either with a statement (One centimetre equals one kilometer), a ratio (1cm:1km) or a line scale.  We used a line scale to calculate distances between several pairs of cities in Canada.  The videos below will give you some information on what we did.  The students than started an activity where their Rock Band is travelling on a seven city tour in Canada.  They needed to plan the tour and calculate the distances between the cities and the total distance. We'll finish the calculations tomorrow,

ELA 9A & 9B

The students read for ten minutes.  We finished reading Act One of "Romeo and Juliet."  The students reviewed the act by completing some questions, which we'll correct tomorrow.  If you were absent you can find the questions posted on Google Classroom.

WARRIOR TIME

Today we looked at some animals we might see in Greece.  We also reviewed the Top 10 Monsters from Greek Mythology.  The students then tried their knowledge out by doing a couple of Kahoots.  Congratulations to Brandon who now has the title of "King of Greek Mythology!"

CAREERS 8B

The students started to crease a career of their choice today.  Links to useful sights and an outline are available on Google Classroom.  They will have two more classes for research and assembly of their information in a Google Slides presentation.
