Computers 8 Red

Today we discussed the jot notes about on-line privacy for the following topics:

1. Shaping your online rep
2. Making your online rep work for you
3. Privacy on the Internet
4. Know you real friends
5. Sexting
6. Understanding new features
7. Online impersonation
8. Passwords
9. Protect your friends’ privacy
10. What can you disclose about your real life online?
11. How can pieces of information fit together?

ELA 9A

The students had some reading time but we also discussed good paragraph writing. The students had a chance to evaluate several pieces of writing, by other grade 9 students, looking at the message, organization and language used in each one. Then, in small groups, the students wrote a new paragraph. We reviewed and discussed those paragraphs and then the students wrote two new paragraphs, about their strengths and areas of improvement this term.

At SLC's on Wednesday students will visit three demonstrations with their parents. One demo will be to revise/edit the paragraphs we wrote today with their parents. The other two demos will be chosen from a variety of subjects. At each demonstration students will video a reflection on that demo and if they post these to their website they will receive $5 in booth bucks. See you Wednesday!

ELA 9B

The students had some reading time but we also reviewed and discussed the paragraphs they wrote in groups last week. Today the students wrote two new paragraphs, about their strengths and areas of improvement this term.

French 10/20/30

The students did a Q&A on their Endangered Animal posters today. We also did some animal riddles and started discussing favourite holidays in French.

French 8B

The students continued working with passe compose using etre and Dr. & Mrs. Vandertramp verbs. Today we also added in making sure the verbs agree with the pronouns. The class finished a parctice sheet and corrected it.

*Today was an alternate day with early dismissal at 2:15. It was also PJ Day!

*Tomorrow is Spring/Rubber Boot Day!
